The bruma is dense

The weather has been cool and fairly nice here in Paraguay for the past two months since we arrived.  Yesterday weather conditions took a turn for the worse.  The temperature climbed, and a temperature inversion has trapped the smoke coming from field burning.  The smoke, or "bruma," has been simply awful.  I heard that it can trigger respiratory issues and asthma.  It has definitely exacerbated the cold I caught last weekend.  It continues to nag, and I can’t quite shake it.  Today is the best I’ve felt since Saturday, but I’m still not fully recovered.  I hope this bruma doesn’t last very long.  La Nacion carried a story on it today with a photo of a plane (one of the few) taking off at the airport:
